In amateur radio my callsign is WN7C. I own and operate a voice repeater a packet radio BBS and network node system. . Pictured to the left is my 100' tower. It has 12' of mast pipe extending out the top with a 17' tall diamond antenna above that for a total height of 129' above ground level. The site is at 1170 above sea level putting the feed point of the antenna at 1280asl.

This picture shows my old Diamond x700ha 24' vertical in a 75MPH wind! It is rated at up to 100MPH. It bends over too easily and looses a lot of gain. This antenna was used for the 2 meter repeater and one of my packet links on UHF. It was hit by lightning last year and was not repairable. I have replaced it with a diamond x500ha which is 17' tall. It has slightly less gain (-1db) but does not bend over in the wind so on windy days it  has more gain than the x700 had.
