Nothing planned for the day. Had the free breakfast and played it by ear. We watched an early morning movie and just enjoyed our lodging. In the afternoon we washed a load of laundry. Again the Staybridge Suites surprised us as the laundry facilities were completely free. While the clothes washed we played rummy in the courtyard under a canopy of California vegetation. The sun was warm but the shaded areas were cool.

I used the provided gas grills, another freebie, to cook supper of steaks, baked potatoes and peas. After eating it was close to sun down so we mixed some OJ and tequila then drove to Redondo Beach and watched the sun set into the ocean. Way beautiful. We have now had OJ and tequila on both coasts, on the east with the sun rising and setting in the west. Back in the room we watched a couple more movies then hit the hay. We watched way more movies on vacation than we ever do at home.

We leave for the next hotel today. After another wonderful breakfast we drove to Pasadena just to see the stadium before turning in the rental car. It was raining lightly, the only rain of the trip. We donned ponchos and walked to the front of the Rose Bowl Stadium for pictures. Tried to get in but security was so tight and we did not have the "proper credentials". There were people all over the area and delivery vehicles were going into the stadium and people were lined up to view floats. It was just sheer madness. We left and drove around looking for the Craftsman Brewing Company. Had trouble finding it as they do not have a store front. The brewery is in a building with one huge room holding all the equipment. I talked briefly with one of the workers who informed me of a British Pub downtown that sold their beer. Off we went to find it.

Lucky Baldwin was the name of the place and it was busy for so early in the morning. Being British themed, lots of guys were in watching soccer and man were they ever excited and hollering. Alice and I split an order of fish and chips and I had a few draughts. Pretty good stuff. Headed back to the LA area on Highway 110 and saw a smashed car in the middle of the road. Slowed traffic down fast.

We arrived at the next hotel and met with the people from Diamond Travel, the tour company we used for the parade. We got a nice room with a huge bed but we are spoiled from the last place. We ran into two other couples from Marion that we know. Turns out that a Marion travel agency also used Diamond Travel for Rose Bowl packages and 40 people from Marion were there. I turned in the rental car and then we ordered Poppa Johns pizza for supper and were to bed early.
